In Bioblitz, students get to explore nature hands-on and put into practice their definitions of biotic and abiotic! They learn how to handle and observe nature without destroying it, talk about different environments, and even get to measure the health of an ecosystem.
What’s Covered
Bioblitz allows students to really get their hands dirty by collecting as many pieces of nature as possible—biotic and abiotic. They get to handle small amphibians and bugs, collect rocks, dirt, and leaves, and explore the space they’re immersed in.
Lessons & Activities
Through various activities like tree identification and guided hands-on exploration, students learn how to safely identify and handle various pieces of nature. As a group, they observe and collect different parts of the ecosystem, and together they determine whether or not the forest is healthy and biodiverse!
